Gelabert finishes fourth on Day 1 in Italy
Miquel Gelabert puts in a very strong performance, achieving fourth place overall.

Honda Montesa participate in the latest TrialGP round this weekend in Camerino, Italy. Miquel Gelabert came into the event eager to do well onboard the RTL Electric, after the positive feeling he had in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra.
The day began with 'Race 1', where the RTL Electric rider delivered a solid performance from the start. Gelabert remained in contention for the top positions zone after zone, despite the final sections of the course becoming slightly more challenging. He finished third. In the Super Pole, which determines the starting order for 'Race 2', he qualified fifth with a time of 0:37.25.
'Race 2' proved very demanding and posed a real challenge for all the riders due to the high temperatures and the limited time available to complete the different sections. Gelabert handled it well and, despite a few stumbles at the start, completed Zones 2 and 3 flawlessly, showcasing his potential. The Honda rider remained in contention for a Top 3 finish until the end, ultimately securing fifth place with 30 penalty points, tied with fourth-placed Gabriel Marcelli.
In the overall standings for the day, the RTL Electric rider was fourth. In terms of the series, Gelabert maintains fifth place with 117 points. Day 2 of the Italian event takes place on Sunday.

"I’m pretty happy with my riding today. On the first lap I was up at the front, riding at my own pace fighting for third, and we made history putting an electric bike on the podium on the first race. The plan was to keep this momentum going and I felt confident for the second lap. We were all very close for time and I struggled a lot, and I made some mistakes. The feeling is bittersweet, because I was fighting for the podium. I’m very grateful to the team because they are doing an amazing job. We are getting close to the podium, and we will keep on working.”

"We are very satisfied with the work done today. Miquel showed a high level throughout the day and was battling with the leading riders in both Race 1 and Race 2. We have seen that we are more competitive in a very demanding class, and that RTL Electric continues to evolve. Coming so close to the podium gives us confidence for tomorrow, but it also motivates us to keep working to take that final step that will allow us to fight for the rostrum."
