Bou takes pair of victories in Camerino

The Repsol Honda HRC team made a strong start to the third round of the 2026 TrialGP World Championship season, held in Camerino. The Italian town is hosting a World Championship event for the first time since 1992, and Toni Bou secured two more victories there to further extend his lead in the standings, while Gabriel Marcelli finished fifth after a challenging day.

Bou once again proved unstoppable, dominating from Race 1 onwards. The Repsol Honda HRC rider completed a solid first lap, making very few mistakes throughout the twelve sections. Accumulating just 16 penalty points, Bou took the victory, a result that further strengthened his overall lead. In Super Pole, which determines the starting order for Race 2, the reigning World Champion was fastest with a time of 0:30.03.

He faced a tougher challenge in Race 2. Bou engaged in a fierce battle for the win with Matteo Grattarola, with both riders trading the lead for much of the run. Ultimately, a mistake by Grattarola in the final section allowed Bou to claim his second victory of the day.

Marcelli had a tricky day. He started out with difficulties, making numerous mistakes in the final sections of the first lap. Despite trying to improve, the Repsol Honda rider couldn't fight for the rostrum and placed sixth. In the Super Pole session, Marcelli secured the third fastest time with 0:35.07, giving him a good starting point for the second part of the day.

In Race 2, Marcelli managed to improve his performance despite the intense heat that affected the riders throughout the day. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider found a more consistent pace and stayed close to the podium positions for much of the race. He ultimately finished fourth, just one point behind third-placed Jaime Busto, recovering after the difficulties of the first race.

Bou is the leader of the overall standings with 200 points, while Marcelli remains in second position with 147 points. The action in Camerino continues on Sunday.

“I’m very happy with the day, with my feeling on the bike, and with how the team worked. I felt really good on the first lap, where I was able to put in a great performance. The second lap wasn’t the best, but we fought hard until the end, and thanks to a mistake by Matteo, we were able to take our second win of the day. We’ve started the season very well, and the goal for tomorrow is to maintain this pace and fight for the win again.”

“This was a difficult day, and I’m not entirely happy. I didn’t have a good feeling on either lap. I didn’t start badly in the first race, but things just didn’t go my way. We encountered a tricky track, where I struggled a lot. Tomorrow is a new day; we’ll start from scratch and change our mindset to try and improve.”

"This was a day of very different feelings. On the one hand, Toni had a very good first race, demonstrating the high level he's at this season. Mattero didn't make things easy for him in Race 2, but he managed to turn things around and ultimately took two more victories. Meanwhile, Gabri had a difficult day. He made a few too many mistakes and never quite found his rhythm. Now he needs to work hard, learn from his errors, and deliver a better performance tomorrow, showing the level we know he's capable of."
